Residential Conveyancing

Investment in IT

We use a state of the art Case Management software system to ensure that we handle all conveyancing matters accurately and efficiently. We also use IT to speed up other aspects of the conveyancing process including:

Dickson Haslam On-Line

You can use Dickson Haslam On-Line to access up to date information about the progress of your transaction 24 hours a day via our website. This means that you can check the progress of your transaction even outside normal working hours, or during the day in real time. You are given a unique password to ensure that your information is secure.

Estate Agents can also access the service to obtain updates on all matters in which they are involved in one go, without the need to interrupt the Solicitor or conveyancing executive acting in each case.

Online Conveyancing searches

NLIS Searchflow is part of a Government initiative designed to automate and speed up the conveyancing process. We obtain all our conveyancing searches via this on-line system which allows us to check the property address details against the electronic gazetter to confirm that the address is accurate before we submit the search application. It also removes ambiguity by enabling us to ‘mark up’ the property on a highly detailed electronic ordnance survey map. Search results are normally sent to us by email which cuts out the delay and uncertainty of postal delivery.

Land Registry Direct

We obtain title documents from the Land Registry via their website which means that we can obtain copies of title documents in minutes rather than days. Title documents obtained via the Land Registry website are also cheaper – saving you money!

On Line Submission of Stamp Duty Forms

We are registered to submit Stamp Duty Land Tax Returns to the Inland Revenue via their secure website, and the tax is paid electronically. This also makes the process more efficient by cutting out postal delivery and delays pending clearance of cheques.

Looking to the Future

Dickson Haslam are committed to the future of conveyancing and are moving our systems towards Land Registry e-conveyancing which is due to be completed in the next few years.
